As part of activities marking International Women’s Day, the Tain District branch of the Ghana National Association of Teachers, in partnership with Tain District Hospital, organised free health screening services. This was on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at the Nsawkaw Methodist School Park. The event aimed to help in the early detection and diagnosis of conditions, especially prevalent among women.

Staff from the hospital provided a variety of services.
Participants were enlightened on:

  1. Cervical Cancer Awareness: Understanding the risks, symptoms, and prevention methods!
  2. Breast Cancer Prevention: Early detection is key! Learn self-examination techniques and screening options.
  3. Hypertension Management: Taking control of your blood pressure!
  4. Diabetes Prevention and Control: Making healthy choices for a healthier life!
  5. Eye Health Screening: Don’t let eye problems hold you back!

Screening Highlights:
A total of 59 individuals were screened for hypertension, diabetes, and various eye conditions. Some were referred to the hospital for further evaluation.
