CAMFED ASSOCIATION in collaboration with the Public Health Unit of the TAIN DISTRICT HOSPITAL on Friday 2nd June embarked on a menstrual hygiene education at the Njau R/C JSS. Students (both male and female) were educated on the female menstrual cycle leading to menstruation. They were also educated on traditions and beliefs surrounding menstruation and reproductive health. The females who were alone were subsequently educated on self-care and personal hygiene during menstruation. In smaller groups too, they had pep talks with peer educators and health workers present. The visiting team finally donated menstrual pads to girls.
