As part of activities to mark World Diabetes Day, the facility in collaboration with the Nsawkaw State Senior High School, the Nsawkaw College of Education and the Tabiakoko Jama Group, embarked on a health walk to drum home the message of diabetes and well-being.
This was on Saturday 19th of November, 2025, and is the third and final health walk of the 60th anniversary year of the facility. It is also one of the major activities aimed at screening as many people as possible for diabetes, free of charge.

The walk climaxed at the Methodist School Park with an aerobics session led by our Medical Laboratory Scientist, and Aerobics Instructor, MLS Yahaya Dawud. Health screening sessions and free diabetes checks were also done.
Over the last few years, the facility has improved its diabetes detection rate with annual free glucose checks. Thus, the incidence of diabetes using outpatient department (OPD) as proxy has risen from 0.4% in 2021 to 1.2% as at the end of 2024. Thus, achieving the annual national target of 1-5%. This, we hope to sustain, with more screening and social activities.
Other activities undertaken included a market storm with screening held on the 19th of November and various community screening activities.
