DR. PHILIP TAAH-AMOAKO

MEDICAL SUPERINTENDENT

DR PHILIP TAAH-AMOAKO is a product of Holy Spirit School, Fiapre-Sunyani, Opoku Ware School, and the University for Development Studies. Having completed it in 2013, he had his housemanship training at the 37 Military Hospital, the University Hospital, Legon, and Yendi Municipal Hospital.


He subsequently worked at the Sampa Government Hospital where he was the Acting Medical Superintendent for 2 years before pursuing a residency program in surgery. He is currently a Member of the Ghana College of Surgeons.


Dr. Taah-Amoako is married with 3 adorable children and is a staunch catholic. He loves chorale music and his favorite choir is the Harmonious Chorale, Ghana. He takes a lot of inspiration from Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

MR. FRANCIS KWAFO

HEAD OF FINANCE

Francis Kwafo is the Head of Finance of the Tain District Hospital. He is a person of integrity and a successful team player.

He started his tertiary education at Takoradi Polytechnic where he obtained second-class upper in Accounting. He continued at Christian Service University-Kumasi where he obtained First class in Business Administration (Accounting).

Francis Kwafo has a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Business Administration (Finance) from KNUST and is a member of the Institute of the Chartered Accountants Ghana (ICAG), which he completed in November 2015.

Francis Kwafo has worked as the Head of Finance at the Salvation Army Hospital (2010-2018), Deputy Head of Finance at the Bono Teaching Hospital (2018-2022)

He has also taught in several institutions, notable among them are the Institute of Chartered Accountants Study Centre in Sunyani and the University Of Cape Coast- School Of Distance Learning Sunyani Centre. He is married with four (4) children.

MR. OFORI AGYEI

HEAD OF ADMINISTRATION

Mr. Ofori Agyei in 2008, he gained admission to the University of Ghana to study Bsc. Administration where he obtained a degree in Health Service Management (Health Administration) in 2011. He was then posted to Kintampo Municipal Hospital for his internship. Upon completion, he stayed on to help the hospital from September, 2012 to August, 2015 when he was appointed as Health Service Administrator and worked under a senior colleague for a year before reposted to Dormaa West, (Nkrankwanta Polyclinic) in 2016.

He became the first administrator to have been posted to the facility and had to start from scratch to ensuring that the Administration was really functional to providing the required support services as expected. He was a key player in upgrading the facility into current status (Dormaa West District Hospital) in 2017 after which he had his first promotion to senior grade in 2018.

To be able to remain relevant in his profession, he participated in a five (5) days Executive Professional Certificate Course in Health Systems Management, Leadership and Governance organized by the Pentecost University in Sunyani in 2018.

In 2022, he was reposted again to Sunyani Municipal Hospital where he worked for almost four (4) years and also had his last promotion to the principal grade in the same year of 2022. In the last quarter of 2025, he was once again reposted to the Tain District Hospital and took office in January, 2026.

In March, 2026 he graduated from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi where he obtained Master of Science Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership. This was to developed himself further.

Ms Martha Adeyiga is a product of Tamale Secondary School, she proceeded to Kumasi polytechnic in 1996 and studied Dispensing Technology. She worked briefly as a Pharmacy Technician at St Theresa hospital in Nkoranza after her National Services. She joined Ghana Health Service in 2002 as a Pharmacy Technician at Bechem Government Hospital in the then Brong Ahafo Region

She later gained admission as a mature student to study BSC Pharmacy at KNUST Kumasi. In 2019 she had postgraduate education from the Catholic University and graduated in 2020 with a Master of PUBLIC Health.

She is a mother of three, one boy and two girls and has been working in Tain District Hospital from 2017 to date

MR. JOSHUA KUNVORLI TIGAN

Mr. Joshua Kunvorli Tigan has almost 13 years experience working in the Public Sector. He has worked as an Accounts Officer at the Tain District Hospital since 2009. He was upgraded to an Auditor in 2019 and is currently the Head of the Internal Audit Unit at the Hospital.

Mr. Joshua Kunvorli Tigan holds MSC in Accounting and Finance from Christian Service University College, a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Cape Coast, and HND in Accounting from Kumasi Polytechnic.

The Internal Audit Unit (IAU) derives its core mandate from the Public Financial Management Act, (ACT 921, 2016) and other financial laws of Ghana. The Internal Audit Agency Act, 2003 (ACT 658) and the Ghana Health Service and Teaching Hospitals Act 1996 (Act 525).

MS. FRANCISCA POMAA

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGER

Ms. Francisca Pomaa is a committed and disciplined healthcare professional with a strong academic foundation and extensive experience in health administration and management.

She began her educational journey at Sunyani Senior High School (2005–2008) before advancing to the University for Development Studies, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Development Education (2010–2014). Driven by a passion for leadership and organizational excellence, she further obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Human Resources Management from Valley View University (2021–2023). She also pursued professional training in Health Administration and Management (HAM) at GIMPA in November 2025, strengthening her expertise in healthcare systems and administration.

Ms. Pomaa joined the Ghana Health Service (GHS) on April 4, 2019, and was posted to Tain District Hospital, where she has been actively contributing to healthcare delivery and administrative efficiency.

She is widely recognized for her strong principles, dedication, and discipline, consistently demonstrating professionalism and a deep commitment to her work. Her passion lies in improving healthcare services through effective management, teamwork, and continuous learning.
