Mr. Dawud Yahaya Abdul Qayyum, a Medical Laboratory Scientist, and the Quality Assurance Manager for the Laboratory has emerged as the Overall Best Staff for the year 2025. In a very rigorous process based on nominations, interviews and visible evidence of work done, the QA team of the Hospital announced the outcome during the final staff durbar of 2025.
Mr. Dawud’s work in the laboratory has ensured that the unit produced reliable and quality reports for diagnosis. The unit thus came up with outstanding results during an assessment by the regional monitoring team. His inputs, and suggestions to leadership of the hospital also led to the procurement of some new machines and the introduction of new investigations. Now, patients do not have to travel far for hormonal investigations, cardiac markers and even tumor markers, a feat that puts the laboratory above its contemporaries.
He has redefined medical laboratory science as he frequently engages staff on updates from the laboratory, sampling, interpretation of results, and clinical decisions. His approach to his role is admirable, commendable and he ensures that every clinical decision made in this Lab is backed by science and evidence.
Outside the laboratory, Mr. Dawud is a sports enthusiast and a lover of aerobics. He is touted as the Aerobics Instructor of the hospital leading aerobics both at the Physiotherapy Department and during our health walks.
Mr. Dawud takes home a certificate of recognition and a table-top refrigerator.

FIRST RUNNER UP
Mr. Enock Adjei’s punctuality has been exceptional. Consistently arriving at work on time, and as early as 6:00am, to see the patients. This is to avoid work overload and make time for scheduled meetings without inconveniencing patients.
He also carried out extra duties assigned to him by his superiors without hesitating. He is often seen working extra hours to ensure clients are attended to. He is always available to step in for his colleagues in their absence.
Over the last 2 years, he has been a core part of the surgical outreach team booking, calling and directing patients which led to the smooth running of the pro gram


SECOND RUNNER UP
‎Mr. Alhassan Danna established a hospital Community-Based Management of Acute Malnutrition (C-MAM). This contributed significantly in the selection of Tain District to pilot the implementation of a community based-management of Acute Malnutrition with support from Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI). This commenced in November 2025.
‎He is credited for establishing the market-based Child Welfare Clinic (CWC) session for the hospital. He also established community-based food and cooking demonstration to curb the growing trends of anemia.
Mr Danaa has been the lead person in proposal writing and committee work for activities marking the TDH @ 60 anniversary.
