She’s eloquent, she’s smart, she’s hardworking, she’s an African beauty, and she crowned it all with an intriguing traditional outfit during our final staff durbar for 2025.
She’s Rita Acheampomaa, a general nurse on rotation. Her outfit dazzled us. She showcased a rich Ghanaian culture in her outfit. Dansinkran well adorned with some Krobo beads, from anklets to bracelets, necklaces, and amulets. Her eye-catching duku (headgear), an Ankara print, and some “preman” sunglasses akin to a typical Ashanti hightimer. She stepped in with queenly steps on adorable handmade oseikrom ahenema(native sandals) to match. The peak of perfection was the nature’s touch, traditional leafs. So, by popular acclamation, she was adjudged to have the best traditional outfit with no match in sight. She walked away with a bottle of sparkling wine.
That wasn’t all. The Surgical Unit also presented Rita with an envelope of appreciation for her meritorious efforts in ensuring the ward was well presented during the recent peer review exercise. She’s has been known for her meticulous documentation, dexterity, courteousness, and willingness to go the extra mile on any shift.

Others who received applause and bottles of champagne for their traditional outfits were Mr. Charles Apandago of the RCH Unit and Mrs Beatrice Abrefa of the CSSD.
