The Twafohemaa of the Badu Traditional Council, Hon. Dr. Nana Lucy Acheampong, who goes by the stool name Nana Gyamea, has been elected as the new Chair of the Hospital Advisory Board. This was during the maiden meeting of the newly constituted board.

Nana Gyamea obtained her Middle School Leaving Certificate in 1970 and earned a Cert A at SDA Training College in 1975. She later pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) in 1994 and followed it up with an MPhil at the same institution in 1999.

In 2005, she studied at Fordham University, New York, USA, where she graduated with an MSc in Educational Management, and subsequently earned a PhD in Educational Leadership from the same university in 2009.

She has been a teacher all her life, teaching at all levels — from kindergarten through senior high school to the training college and university levels.

Her administrative experience includes years of service within the Ghana Education Service (GES), particularly in Human Resources Management and Development at both the GES Headquarters and the Regional Education Office in Sunyani.

Nana Gyamea is also a former board member of the National Teaching Council and the Public Services Commission.

She was enstooled as Twafohemaa of the Badu Traditional Council in 1994 and later served as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Tain District between 2021 and 2024.
